Costa Rica's unrivaled natural beauty offers many
rich and rewarding experiences for the adventurous. From the Hotel, visitors can
walk to the tide pools at low tide or go for hikes nearby in the forest where
monkeys and toucans can be spotted as well as a large variety of other tropical
birds. The pacific sunsets area
spectacular and the feeling of peace and
tranquility is everywhere. Tours are available from the hotel or can be arranged
with a local tour company.

- Turtle reserve
Playa Hermosa:
Hermosa
beach is one of the best beaches in Costa Rica to
surf, at the southern end of the beach there's a
Turtle reserve where they protect the green turtles
when they hatch during November through March under
a special liberation program.
This reserve is open
for the public with a specialized guide. 
- Sport Fishing:
We fish from out the marine of the
Marriott " Los Sueños Hotel at Herradura Beach about 15 minutes from
where we are located.
We offer half day and full day fishing trips. Our captain has 20 years of
experience and fishing packages include excellent fishing equipment, lures, round trip transportation
from the hotel, licenses, soft drinks and snacks and plenty of
cold beer.
Here you can find plenty of black Marlin and Sailfish, also black and yellow
fin Tuna, Mackerel, Snapper, Roosterfish, Wahoo, and more varieties, depending
if you fishing trip is in shore or off shore.
- Carara National
Park: Formerly a biological reserve, is
probably the best nature hike in all the central
pacific area; with more then 330 species of
birds (included our famous red Macaw), 4 species
of monkeys, countless butterflies species, iguanas,
frogs, bats, armadillos, anteaters, crocodiles
and much more.

Water Falls: Looking to get some exercise?
This adventurous hike is not only great for
nature lovers but an excellent half day work
out.
The terrain is steep in and out; the level
of this hike is moderate to difficult. Your
enthusiastic guide will lead you down a trail
sharing his knowledge of flora and fauna along
the way. Many opportunities to view various
reptiles, mammals, and birds.
A common trail
to view the green and black poison frog. At
the bottom of the trail you will find several
swimming holes and up above you will see one
of the highest water falls in Costa Rica

- Manuel Antonio
National Park: Your day will start with
an interesting 2-hour drive to Manuel Antonio,
when your guide will share stories of the past
and his knowledge of the African oil palms.
You will arrive at the park in the early morning,
local agriculture: sugar cane, watermelon, teak
wood trees and which happens to be a very active
time for mammal and bird species. Manuel Antonio
is known for the high possibility to view the
two and three toed sloth’s, three species of
monkeys, and swimming in the calm emerald water
surrounded by white sand beach and lush rain
forest

- Mangrove
Boat Journey on the Rio Grande Tarcoles:
This journey will take you back millions of
years ago where the land was dominated by reptiles.
You aren’t the only one basking in the sun of
Costa Rica; the presence of ancient crocodiles
of lengths up to 23 feet will surely take your
breath away. You will travel through the river
in a safe and comfortable ecosystem and ecological
importance of the mangroves of the tropics.
Many opportunities to view birds as tiger herons,
snail kites, scarlet macaws, possibly monkeys,
and other mammals in the trees along the way.

- Punta Leona:
Our hotel Canciones del Mar and private club
Punta Leona have made an agreement where our
guests are able to use their facilities for
a small charge per person for the whole day.
Punta Leona has one of the most beautiful beaches
and tropical scenery of Costa Rica and is only
about 25 minutes by car or taxi from our hotel.
There
are also nature trails and a canopy tour available
at Punta Leona
.
- Horse back
riding: This is one of the best ways to
enjoy beautiful scenery, exploring the countryside
on horseback. You will be passing typical haciendas
and enjoying panoramic views. There are different
tours, which will take you to beaches, waterfalls
and mountains.

- Arenal Volcano
& Hot Springs: IF you never seen an
active volcano, Arenal makes for a spectacular
first. This 1633 meters high volcano, majestically
rises out of the lush pastures and forest to
the east end of lake Arenal. Intermittently
explosions draw people day and night, although
night is the best time to observe the red lava.

- Tortuga Island
Cruise: Experience blue water, white sand, green
mountains, superb cuisine and attentive personal
service. Calypso’s super catamaran the Manta Raya,
glides past more than seven islands in the gulf
of Nicoya. Her port of call is the enchantingly
beautiful palm studded Tortuga Island where you
can walk the impeccable white sand beach, swim in
the turquoise waters and investigate the marine
life while the crew prepares a sumptuous feast.

- Turu Bari
Tropical Park: Welcome to the biggest and

- Pura Vida
Waterfall gardens: Nestled in the mountains
overlooking miles of scenic pacific Coastline.
Manufactured walkways meander along a river
or at the top of a mountain crest. It’s an easy
5 minutes walk to see Costa Rica’s tallest waterfall.
There are a total of 4 waterfalls including
one that you can climb. Bird watching is great
as well as scarlet macaws & toucans; you
can often see monkeys and other wildlife.


- Surf classes
by chuck: From grommets to grandpas, pros
to never done it, we have you covered. 3-hour
lesson includes transport, guide, driver, instructor
(certified lifeguard) and all equipment needed.
It starts out with half an hour of theory and
safety on the beach and then off to the water.
We go for two hours of the most exhausting and
thrilling adventure you could ask for. Imagine
we have over 50 years total combined time in
the water! After we wear you out and have shown
you how to ride, we take you on a short tour
of an operating surfboard factory so you see
how the wave machines are made. Quick trip back
to the shop and we discuss abilities and assess
the student equipment needs for future surfing.

- Damas Island
Mangroves: Our guided tours through the
mangroves of Damas Island take place by boat
and according the tides. This tour of the estuary
is easy and relaxing. Just sit back and take
in the spectacular sites of the unspoiled mangrove.
You will see many types of birds as well as
a variety of animals, which have made the mangroves
their homes of thousand of years. They include
crocodiles, Cayman boa constructors, white faces
monkeys, squirrel monkeys and sloth.

- Pacific Rain
Forest Aerial Tram: The Rain forest Aerial
Tram Pacific’s mission is to raise the world’s
consciousness as the importance of the tropical
forests and the sustainable development of them
through education and the protection of the
environment. Adventure tour description: this
new eco tourism project of 222 acres, allows
you to discover the hanging gardens of the tropical
gardens from an open perspective. Open-air gondolas
with canvas awnings seat 8 passengers and a
naturalist guide. The adventure begins through
one of our nature walking trails, accompanied
with an expert guide to discover the forest-hidden
secrets and learn about the importance about
conserving the eco system.

- Surfing Right in front of the hotel: Jaco is a great place to surf
with more of the killer waves at Playa Hermosa and Playa Escondida. Right in
front of our hotel we have a nice break for surfing.
- Costa Rica Outriggers:
"It's like rafting on the ocean" in your canoe. Clients will be called
upon to paddle the canoe. But the canoe will continue on its way if one were to
skip a few strokes. You will glide easily past spectacular cliffs, filled with
frigate birds and pelicans, and land on secluded beaches that offer the best
snorkeling to be found on the central pacific coast.
- Kayak Float trip-Río Tulin:
Just a few minutes from Jaco and you are relaxing as you drift down the Tulin
river. Shallow (Knee deep) mellow full of birds and Jesuschrist lizards. Great for
families and anyone wanting to disappear for a while.
- Canopy Adventure:
The exhilarating adventure of climbing above the canopy of the tropical forest
